Lunabar VOC Tables
The traditional definition of “Void of Course” (VOC) is that the Moon is VOC when she makes no further aspects within her current sign. There is also a Hellenistic definition that allows the Moon to be VOC when she
is currently making no aspect, even though she may make an aspect later in her current sign. By “aspect”, a Ptolemaic aspect (conjunction, sextile, square, trine or opposition) is meant. Classical astrologers would
only take aspects to the traditional planets into account; modern astrologers may include Uranus, Neptune and Pluto too.
Lunabar uses the modern planets. The tables here allow for either - so select your VOC table from “Traditional” or “Modern”. You can download each of these files - the naming convention is VOCyyyyq.TRA for the
traditional tables, and VOCyyyyq.MOD for the modern tables, where yyyy is the year, and q the quarter - so April to June 2006 is the second quarter so the tables are called VOC20062.TRA for the traditional tables,
or VOC20062.MOD for the modern tables. In your Lunabar directory (usually C:\Program Files\clySmic\Lunar Almanack) there is a file called “Void of Course.Luna”. Rename the appropriate VOC file that you’ve downloaded
here to Void of Course.Luna, and your VOC should now work within Lunabar.
Alternatively, download all the files as one ZIP file. This idea was suggested to me by Ron Cosseboom, who also provided the ZIP file. Thanks Ron!
Note: Lunabar now has a new home at http://infra-azure.org/lunabar/index.html and now incorporates the modern version of the VOC tables up until 2008. My tables are still useful if you wish to use traditional tables.
Right-click on the file and select “Save As” to download the file.
