Astrology Links

The following links are a few of my favourite sites. Also, have a look at my Articles page for further information on astrology, and for some background material for using some of the sites listed below.

Astrological Association

The Astrological Association was founded in London almost 50 years ago and is one of the world’s leading astrological organisations. Membership is open to anyone interested in astrology, from beginners to professionals, and benefits include the world-famous Astrological Journal every two months, Transit magazine, discounted rates to seminars, an annual conference, an online database, and members-only online forums.

Astrodienst

An unbelievably useful site. Free charts and basic horoscopes, and the definitive atlas for latitude, longitude and time zone information.

German Astrology Association on-line database

The DAV (German Astrology Association) have almost 30,000 records of famous people in their database. I originally converted this to a simple HTML format for them, but they now have a much improved German language interface.

Lois Rodden’s Astro Databank

The full databank is a commercial product, but this site also has quite a few “free samples” and is a good place to look for celebrity data if you don’t want to purchase the full database.

Astrolog32

A superb - and totally free - astrology program. Read this article about Astrolog32 before trying to use this program.

Bristol School of Astrology

OK - I’m biased because I teach there and maintain the site. This site has various useful articles about centaurs and asteroids.

Arcturus Rising

This is an astrology group based in Bristol. I’m biased again!

Ephemeris generator

Part of NASA’s website, this will generate an ephemeris for any planet, asteroid or centaur. The scientists at NASA don’t really approve of astrology, so they don’t make the information easy to find - read this article page before attempting to use this site.

Centaur ephemeris

If you find the NASA site too complicated, this site is much easier to use (but doesn’t have the range of the NASA site).

Swiss Ephemeris

If you’re a programmer and want to write your own astrology programs, this programming interface is the one to use. It’s free for personal use.

ONLINE ASTROLOGY GROUPS

alt.astrology.moderated

This is an excellent newsgroup if you have newsreading software. It is friendly and helpful, and has posters of all levels and experience.

Node-o-Rama

I only recently came across this online forum - it doesn’t seem to be very busy, but has lots of useful contributions. You need to “subscribe”, as is the case in most on-line groups, but this doesn’t cost anything and doesn’t mean you’ll be inundated with unwanted e-mails!

Yahoo! Groups

There are a number of Yahoo! groups devoted to astrology - to join, you have to subscribe to Yahoo! Groups first at www.groups.yahoo.com (again, free of charge). The biggest of the astrology groups is Conjunction, and you can subscribe to Conjunction by sending a blank e-mail to conjunction-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. You can then edit your options at the Yahoo! Groups site to determine whether you want messages to the group e-mailed to you, or whether you want to read them at the website.
